The Happy Valley Musical is coming, and we need YOU!
The only way to pull off a musical is with the support of our Happy Valley community. We need designers, shoppers, organizers, builders, helpers, and more! This year, we will need the most support in our SET and SCENERY, as well as our THEATER TECHNOLOGY. This is entirely student created, but we need lots of grown-ups and family members to help us in the process. All families are welcome to join the fun, regardless of their student’s grade level!
Things to know!
The musical's website: happyvalleymusicroom.blogspot.com will have all the information you will need. Show dates and times, cast and crew lists, rehearsal calendars, costume information, ways to help out, and so much more.
How students join the cast: Audition!
Auditions will be held during music class the first and second weeks of December. Students will be asked to do an acting audition (scripts provided) and a singing audition if they’d like to be considered for a signing role. Students may choose to sing something as simple as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or a full Broadway song. They may audition solo or in a small group.
How students join the crew: Apply!
Students must provide Mrs. Tully with a letter of interest which should include what job they would like (jobs will be listed on the website as well as in each classroom), and why they are the right fit for that job!

All students who choose not to audition or apply will get to be part of the chorus. All students will learn the part of the chorus during music class. There will be two full sets of Cast and Crew for two full sets of performances. All students in Cast and Crew A will perform as the chorus for the Cast B performance and vice versa. Third graders will also be a part of the chorus.
Costumes will be designed by students. Families are encouraged to provide costuming, but the costume committee will also be helping, especially with group costumes.
All rehearsals will take place during the regular school day, with the exception of three Thursday afternoons. These will take place on January 30th, February 13th, and March 20th. They will run from 12:20-3:00. We will also have a Saturday set-building party with a date TBD.
Third graders are all in the chorus for the show. This will be our main focus during music classes from the months of January, February, and March! As chorus members, they will have some sort of optional costume theme they will be able to wear for the shows, which will be decided as we get further into the rehearsal process. (Don’t worry! We will make it really easy!)
All HV families are welcome to attend the Saturday set-building party, which will likely be a Saturday in late February or early March. Keep an eye out for that date!
If you have any questions about the play, please don't hesitate to contact our music teacher

Do you want to help design and create the set, scenery, and props for the musical this year? We’ve got the club for you! As a member of this group, you’ll be tasked with not only designing and creating, but also with bringing ideas to life in your classroom and other classes during the school day! Our amazing fifth grade teacher, Devin Eckert, will be coming back to lead the class. This club is free to any fourth and fifth grader who wants to be part of the team! Students in the art club are welcome to audition and apply for other roles in the musical as well. Attendance in this club is highly encouraged for those seeking the position of “Assistant Art Director”, but not required.

Parent volunteers are welcome and needed to help support this club!
Performance Dates:
The performances will be the week of March 31st-April 3rd, 2025 with evening performances on Tuesday the first and Thursday the third.
Tickets are required, but free. More information will come as we get closer to the shows!
